Read the Delphi units and forms, the schema, the stored procedures and the triggers. The rules that matter are rarely where the documentation says they are.

Before a Delphi module is rewritten, its behaviour is catalogued. Business rules found in the code are given identifiers and citations back to the unit, form or database object they came from. The new implementation cites those identifiers where the rule is implemented, so the answer to “why is it like this?” is not lost again.
Where the old system does something surprising, characterization tests record what it actually does, separately from what it ought to do. Work does not begin on a module whose rules are still unknown. Without that gate, the gaps get filled with invention.
AI accelerates discovery and implementation. Engineers remain responsible for architecture, judgment, exceptions and quality.
